First Annual All Military Parade in Tacoma
Bremerton Base will Participate. If you would like to car pool, be at Lowes (Sedgwick Exit) by 1430 and we will caravan down, according to Base Cdr.
The parade will begin at 6:00pm, Saturday, August 24, 2013. The parade starts at S 13th St. and Pacific Ave. and ends at S 24th St. and Pacific Ave.
Staging areas will be secured and available for arrival at 2:30pm. Parade participants and vehicles should be in position no later than 4:30pm
Your staging and drop-off area is 21 Alpha determined by your official parade number. For example, #29C means that you are 29th in the parade order and will stage in area (Charlie) as identified on your parade map. Bremerton Base Fireworks Sale Shows a Decent Profit
Base Treasurer Dennis Nardone finalized the 2013 fireworks sale net profit at $4,261.70, or 17.18% of gross sales. Fireworks Sales Manager Mike Sullivan and 2014 manger Mike Friend can take pride in their long and hard work on this project.
Other members and volunteers (CPOA) that worked the sales should be recognized as well. This annual income is the base's major revenue source for operations and charitable activities, primarily the scholarship program.
Bremerton Base Takes Back the Dolphins
Last evening, Thur, 8 August 5th , Bremerton Base pirates hit the road to take back the coveted traveling dolphins from the Olympic Peninsula Base. They were met with an anti-pirate proclamation from the John Clear, Olympic Peninsula Base Commander. It was entertaining, but didn't keep the pirates from succeeding.
A good business meeting was conducted. GOOD NEWS!
1. Olympic Peninsula Base will not close.
2. Aug 24th Steak Dinner Feed at Port Townsend Elks is on for 5 PM. Professional Chef and Life Member Milo Vandecar will provide a great dinner with steak and fish. (Ralph Harris has tickets ($16.25) Stay Tuned!

Biannual Base Officer Elections on the Horizon
Nomination Chairman Dutch Kaiser reports the following members in good standing have been

ARTICLE VIII. BIANNUAL ELECTIONS (Amd 10-18-11)
Section 1. The Chairman of the Nominating Committee shall conduct the nominations for the
five elected offices.
Section 2. The chairman of the Nominating Committee shall call for nominations of eligible candidates for
the five elected offices to all members on or before August 30. Nominations shall be submitted by
any member in good standing on or before October 30, to the Chairman of the Nominating
Committee, but only if such nominations are accompanied by consent of the nominee that he will accept the nomination and serve if elected and he must be a member in good standing. Upon
receipt of all nominations, the Chairman of the Nominating Committee shall have published the
names, in alphabetical order, of all candidates properly nominated, at least thirty days prior to the
date of elections. Additional nominations, when called for, shall be made from the floor, on the
day of the election, and shall be accepted upon the oral or written consent of the nominee that he
accepts the nomination and will serve if elected. Elections will normally be held at the business
meeting in November. The new officers shall be installed during the month of January. (Amd
10-19-10 & 10-18-11)
Section 3. All elections shall be by secret ballot vote of the members in good standing.
